Gerry Wins 4th SLM Feature of Season
|
Curtis Gerry dominated once again this week to
win his 4th race of the season in the Spencer Paving
Super Late Models feature during Oxford Championship
Series.
Dale Lawrence of Minot won his 2nd race
of the season in the Aroma Joe's full-size Figure 8s
with Dale Durgin of Norway behind him in 2nd place and
Greg Durgin of Norway picking up 3rd.
Maddy
Herrick of Otisfield won her 6th ATA Piping Inc. Rookies
feature Saturday night beating out some pretty tough
competition. Cody Macomber led the first 5 laps of the
feature before being passed by Karson Hewins. Herrick
moved into 2nd with Samuel Wardwell following suit
pulling into 3rd. They spent the rest of the 15 lap
feature chasing Hewins down. Unfortunately Wardwell got
into the back of Hewins during the final lap causing him
to spin and lose the lead. Wardwell technically finished
2nd but they decided because of his action to "send him
to the rear" even though the feature was over. Maddy
Herrick led the rest of the final lap, Jeremy Turner of
Norway got 2nd with Cody Macomber of Greene taking home
3rd place.
Alex Mowatt of Norway dominated the
Cooley's Commercial Tire Bandits feature to win his 4th
race of the season. A. Mowatt took the early lead and
led the rest of the race. Luke Mowatt of Norway finished
in 2nd place with Jeff Libby of Auburn picking up a 3rd
place finish.
Jordan Russell of Norway picked up
his 4th Limited Late Model win of the season after
leading all 30 laps of the feature. Shawn Knight of
South Paris finished in 2nd with Skip Tripp of Oxford
rounding out the top 3.
Calvin Rose Jr. took the
early lead in the Super Late Models with Kyle Desouza in
2nd and Alan Wilson in 3rd. Curtis Gerry made his way
through the field to take 2nd on lap 16 and chased down
Rose. After a caution on lap 25 Gerry took the lead and
did not look back. Calvin Rose Jr. of Turner ended up
settling for 2nd place while Alan Wilson of Hebron took
home a solid 3rd place finish.
Other winners
during the Oxford Championship Series were: Charlie Hall
in the 50 lap Enduro and Quinten Dow in the Wicked Good
Vintage Association feature.
The Oxford
Championship Series continues Saturday, June 19th at
7:00 PM.
