Gerry Tops the SLM Field |
Former track champion Curtis Gerry of Waterboro
made his way back to the Victory Circle this past
weekend during WOXO Night at Oxford Plains Speedway
topping the field in the RB Performance Super Late
Models.
Evan Roy of Turner picked up his first
win in the ATA Piping Rookies feature. Roy took the lead
at the start and led all 15 laps. Cody Macomber of
Naples finished in 2nd while Jeremy Turner of South
Paris took home a 3rd place finish.
Spencer Barth
of Buxton took home his first win of the season in the
Cooley's Commercial Tires Mad Bombers. Ed Johnson took
the early lead until lap 10 when the first caution came
out. Barth took the lead on the restart and was able to
hold off a hard charging Corey Morgan to take home the
win. Corey Morgan of Lewiston settled for 2nd place and
Ed Johnson picked up a solid 3rd place finish.
Joey Israelson of Saco won his first race of the season
in the Richard Spaulding Roofing Street stocks. After a
couple early cautions Israelson found himself battling
for the lead with Joe Hutter. Israelson was able to pull
away and Hutter was passed by Clyde Hennessy for 2nd on
lap 24. Clyde Hennessy picked up 2nd place with Joe
Hutter finishing behind him in 3rd.
Eric Hodgkins
of Winthrop won his 2nd in a row in the Aroma Joe's
Figure 8s. Mark Turner took the early lead and led until
he unfortunately spun on lap 13. Hodgkins quickly took
the lead and led the rest of the 15 lap feature. Dale
Lawrence of Minot and Dale Durgin of South Paris
finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Nick Moulton
of Windham took home his first checker of season in the
DLM Landscaping & Excavation Limiteds. Kenny Harrison
jumped to the early lead but, after a caution on lap 10,
Moulton took the lead on the restart. Dylan Thyng enter
the picture on lap 11 to battle of the lead before
falling back. Chris Smith moved up to 2nd with Harrison
taking over 3rd place on lap 24. Chris Smith of Buxton
finished 2nd with Kenny Harrison rounding out the top 3.
Charlie Young of Oxford won his 2nd Kyle Hewins
Motorsports/Floor Solutions Thunderstocks feature of the
season. Tucker Haskell picked up 2nd while Adam Stearns
finished in 3rd.
Dave Farrington Jr. and Alan
Tardiff battled in the the opening laps of the Super
Late Model feature with Curt Gerry making his way up to
3rd. After a caution on lap 9 Gerry took the lead and
ran away with it. Farrington fell to 2nd with Tim
Brackett chasing after him in 3rd. After a caution
Brackett and Kyle Desouza made contact causing both of
them to slide back. Max Cookson moved up and took over
3rd place. Dave Farrington remained in 2nd the rest of
the feature with Max Cookson finishing behind him in 3rd
place.
