Enter 2009 TD Banknorth 250 by May 15, become eligible for Goodyear tire drawing

Entry fee waived for early birds, as well

OXFORD, Maine - For the third straight year, Oxford Plains Speedway owner Bill Ryan has announced that early entries into the TD Banknorth 250 Presented by New England Dodge Dealers will be entered into a drawing for three sets of eight Goodyear tires.

All race entries received by Friday, May 15 will be free. OPS will draw three tire winners from that pool of drivers.

New England’s richest short track tradition gets the green flag at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19.

“The tire drawing became a new TD Banknorth 250 tradition back in 2007. With well over 100 early entries both years, it showed the enthusiasm that Late Model teams throughout New England have for this race,” said OPS owner Bill Ryan. “Plus, I think we’re all looking out our windows and anxious to hear anything to remind us that racing is right around the corner.”

Saving $75 on the race day entry fee is not only a wise idea as we approach the dreaded tax deadline day. Given the limit on the number of tires every team may buy on TD Banknorth 250 weekend, eight is a huge reward that will cover a majority of that bill for three lucky drivers.

The entry blank for the 36th annual TD Banknorth 250 will be available online soon, or by calling the Speedway office at (207) 539-8865. (You must have the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to download the entry blank.)

This year’s TD Banknorth 250 again features the traditional three days of racing, all presented by New England Dodge Dealers.

It begins with a full card of Oxford Championship and Acceleration Series competition on Friday, July 17, followed by a day of TD Banknorth 250 practice and the Maine-Ly Action Sports 100 for the True Value Modified Racing Series on Saturday, July 18.

One of NASCAR’s legendary families filed the first official entries for the TD Banknorth 250. Kenny Wallace will compete in the event for the first time since 1992, while nephew Steve will make his first attempt. Steve’s father, 1989 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Rusty Wallace, is grand marshal of this year’s race.

NASCAR star Kevin Harvick won the 2008 edition.

Reserved seats are available at $50, $40 and $30.
