OXFORD, Maine - Every established division of Oxford Plains
Speedway’s Championship and Acceleration Series will benefit from
enhancements to the weekly purse in 2007, OPS owner Bill Ryan
announced today.
In one of the most dramatic changes,
every finishing position from 11th to 20th in the Oxford Networks
Late Model division will be worth $110. That will at least double
and in some cases more than triple the payouts received for those
finishing positions last season.
“We believe that our revised purse
structure will help to spread the wealth throughout the field, so to
speak, in all our divisions,” Ryan said. “While the top end of
our purse remains among the best in the country for a weekly race
program, our plan for 2007 will help reward the guys who are
battling it out in the middle of the pack each week.”
Any finish outside the top 10 in an
Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy Strictly Stock or Mini Stock race
will now pay $25, an increase of $10. The Mini Stock purse has also
been brought in line with the Strictly Stock purse, with each
feature paying $200 to win, $150 for second and $100 for
third.
Wednesday night purses for the Oxford
Acceleration Series (formerly Summer Series) will remain the same.
When the Outlaws, Runnin’ Rebels, Sport Trucks and Ladies compete
in conjunction with the Oxford Championship Series, however, they
will enjoy a significant increase from $100 to $150 for a victory
and $50 to $75 for second. The payout for third through fifth
positions will double on Saturdays.
