 FIRST OAS THURSDAY EVENT OF 2023
Oxford Acceleration Series held their first Thursday night races of the season this week picking up where they left of on Memorial Day. There was no formal write-up for Memorial Day Motor Mayhem event The winners on 5/29 were Jamie Heath in the Rebels, Cam Richards in the Outlaws, Kyle Glover in Trucks, Bob Guptil in Cruisers and Deanna Bisbee in the Ladies. This week we a first time winner and a debut of a new class!

Breeanna Tucci (Spaulding now going by her married name) picked up her first win of the season in the T&M Commercial Funding Ladies. Carleigh Vaughn took the early lead and was able to hold the other drivers off until lap 17 when Tucci passed her for the lead. Taylor Lampron finished in 2nd with Michele Bisbee taking home 3rd place.

David Vaughn dominated in the DT Asphalt Outlaws winning his first race of the season. Jeremy Turner took the early lead but after a caution on lap 4 Vaughn took the lead and quickly ran away with it. Will Dunphy finished in 2nd with JC White taking home 3rd.

Matt Mahar won the 207 Brand Running Rebels feature. Ricky Austin led the first laps of the feature with Chris Giguere behind him in 2nd. They made contact lap 15 bringing out a caution and causing Doug Degroat to hit a sandpile trying to avoid them. Adam Oneil took the lead on the restart before Mahar the lead shortly after. Mahar led the rest of the 20 lap race. Dustin Salley finished in 2nd with Jamie Heath picking up 3rd.

Cole Mcintire led all 20 laps of the ATA Piping Inc. Sport Trucks race to pick up his first career win at Oxford. Mcintire took the early lead and ran away with it. Alex Moore took home 2nd with Kyle Glover picking up 3rd place.

Greg Sessions won the debut of the Varsity Thunder Stocks. The Varsity Thunder Stocks is a new OAS division for drivers who have won races and championships to race against each other in the same cars that race in the Thunder Stocks division on Saturday nights with drivers that don't have much experience winning races. Brandon Varney took the early lead and led most of the race before making contact with Kurt Hewins during the final lap. Sessions snuck by to take the win, Tucker Haskell finished in 2nd while Brandon Varney ended up settling for a 3rd place finish.

Other winners on Thursday night were Joshua Cook in the JR Rookies, John Childs in the Cruisers, and Addison Bowie in the Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association Hobby Division.
